"About 2,000 traders at the Kejetia market in the Ashanti regional capital,"
About 2,000 traders at the Kejetia market in the Ashanti regional capital, Kumasi have been demonstrating against a planned demolition of their stalls at the market.
They have been given a two-month grace period to vacate the market or risk getting their merchandise and properties destroyed.
The angry traders say the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly must give them enough time to relocate before the demolition exercise comes off.
The KMA intends redeveloping the bus terminal, thus the need for the relocation of the traders.
All shops at the bus terminal are currently locked and vehicles are not moving.
