"Popular Traditional Priest, Kwaku Bonsam, has alleged that a priest at the Antoa Palace"
Popular Traditional Priest, Kwaku Bonsam, has alleged that a priest at the Antoa Palace must have been complicit in the stealing of the ‘black stool’ from the palace.
According to Nana Kwaku Bonsam, “Nobody can steal from a palace like that unless the person knows about the dos and don’ts of the Antoa god. It is possible that one of the priests of the Antoa Palace helped in the stealing."
Some thieves broke into the palace of Antoa on November 17th and stole some of a feared ‘black stool’.
The Chiefs and Elders of Antoa arrived at the Manhyia Palace yesterday to formally brief the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II about the incident.
The Chief Priest and Caretaker of ‘Antoa Nyama’, Nana Asiamah has however debunked earlier reports that gold trinkets and other valuable items were stolen from the shrine of the ‘Antoa Nyamaa’ river deity.
He claims the only stolen item is the ‘black stool’ that was locked away in a secret room at the chief’s palace.
Antoa, a town in the Kwabre East District of the Ashanti Region is very popular because the most dreaded Ashanti river deity and perhaps the most popular in Ghana, ‘Antoa Nyamaa’s shrine is situated there.
Rituals have since begun at the Antoa Shrine in search of the burglars of the stolen item.
But the Spiritual head of Kofi oo Kofi Shrine, Nana Kwaku Bonsam believes that the Antoa deity will soon fish out the burglars.
He claims he has been praying to his god, Kofi oo Kofi to help Antoa find the perpetrators.
“Just as all pastors share the joy and sorrow of their fellow pastors, we traditional priests do same. If something happens to one god, it happens to us all, and that is why Kofi oo Kofi will intervene in this issue,” he stated.Share your views
