President John Dramani Mahama has wished Christians in Ghana the very best of Easter and hopes that the festivity will “mark a new beginning” in their lives.
In his Easter message to Ghanaians on his facebook wall President Mahama wrote, “I want to use this occasion to express my best wishes to all Ghanaians. May the Spirit of Easter mark a new beginning in for our country.”
The president on Good Friday joined the Leaders and members of the Light House Chapel International at the independence Square in Accra to commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
Speaking at the Good Friday Service, the President has asked Ghanaians to celebrate the successes the country has chalked over the years and to also do away with self-doubt saying, “Ghana’s problems will be solved if we learn to put away self-doubt and remain optimistic.”
“When we celebrate our success we will go forward and that is why I say count your blessings one by one and it will surprise you what the Lord has done,” the President said.
Also present at the service was Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-William who described the gathering of Lighthouse congregants as a movement that promises to impact Ghana in a positive way.
