The Overlord of the Mamprugu Traditional area, the Nayiri, Naabohogu Mahami Abdulai Sheriga, has urged the President-Elect of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to remain focused during his tenure of office, and help deliver improvements in the standards of living of Ghanaians.

According to the Nayiri, Nana Akufo-Addo’s victory in the December 7 election came by “dint of hard work and focus. So, please remain focused and continue to work hard, and I am confident the good Lord will grant you success.”

The Nayiri made this known on Thursday, December 22, 2016, when the President-Elect of the Republic, together with the Vice President-Elect, Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, some Members of Parliament-Elect and leading members of the New Patriotic Party, paid a courtesy call on him at his palace in Nalerigu.

Naabohogu Mahami Abdulai Sheriga noted that Nana Akufo-Addo’s visit to him “is unique in the sense that you have come here so many times. In those days you came here, simply, as Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. Today, you are coming here as President-Elect Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. More so, you have come here with my son to introduce yourselves to me.”

The Nayiri wished the President-Elect and his incoming government “a successful tenure of office.”

He, however, urged Nana Akufo-Addo to “gather all Ghanaians together, and at the same time keep an eagle eye on those you will appoint to help you run the affairs of the state. You can count on me 24/7 for support of your government. I wish you and your vice and your team good luck and God’s guidance.”
