National Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has asked Ghanaians to stop bashing ex- President Rawlings for appearing to snub AMA Chief Executive Alfred Oko Vanderpuije in Parliament on Thursday.

According to Kofi Adams, Dr Vanderpuye invited the embarrasment onto himself.

President Jerry John Rawlings appeared to have snubbed the Mayor of Accra in a video that was widely circulated on social media.

Mr. Rawlings was with his entourage when the incident took place. There have been lots of public uproar over the video.

Watch video below:

But Kofi Adams, who is also a spokesperson for the former President, siad the incoming Ablekuma South MP ought to have known better.

According to him, Okoe Vanderpuiye should have allowed protocol to work instead of trying to distract President Rawlings.

“Okoe Vanderpuiye breached protocol. He should have known better. Even Rawlings directed him not to walk on the Red Carpet after initially avoiding him but he forcefully went through which was not right,” he said on Accra based Okay fm.

He said though it is unfortunate, it serves as a deterrent to others not to breach protocols.
