The government has rejected GH¢873.94 million in bids for Treasury bills, despite investors tendering GH¢4.27 billion against a target of GH¢3.80 billion.

The latest auction results show that the government accepted GH¢3.39 billion of the bids submitted, leaving a significant portion of investor demand unaccepted.

The 91-day bill attracted the strongest demand, with GH¢2.86 billion in bids tendered. Of this amount, GH¢2.55 billion was accepted at a yield of 4.61%.

For the 182-day bill, investors tendered GH¢533.28 million, while the government accepted GH¢420.66 million at a yield of 6.29%.

The 364-day bill recorded GH¢873.69 million in bids, of which GH¢420.24 million was accepted. The yield stood at 9.67%.

The auction results show that the government accepted about 79.5% of the total bids tendered, while the accepted amount fell short of the GH¢3.8 billion target by approximately GH¢407.34 million.

The rejection of bids indicates that the government did not accept all the funds offered by investors, even as the auction fell short of its target.
