Rapper Medikal has recounted a terrifying experience he had during a visit to his girlfriend’s house in Oyarifa, where he was held at gunpoint by the girl’s 'sponsor.’

The rapper said he decided to share the story of the frightening encounter, despite how painful it was to revisit, to caution young men against putting themselves in similar situations.

According to Medikal, the incident happened when he was dating a woman who repeatedly asked him to visit her at house. He eventually agreed to see her one afternoon and went to her residence in Oyarifa.

He said they were in the room when they suddenly heard a loud bang. Before he could understand what was happening, the door flew open and a man walked in, demanding to know why he was there.

Medikal said the situation took a dangerous turn when the man reached for a gun, which the rapper believed was a 9mm pistol.

Recounting how he reacted, he said he immediately raised his hands and pleaded for his life as the armed man ordered him to kneel.

“I immediately went into humble mode and raised my hands up in the air. He ordered me to kneel I kept on apologizing while he was shouting and exerting his authority over me. I tried to explain that I had no idea the woman was involved with someone else, but he asked me who I thought had rented the room for her,” he said.

The rapper said he was terrified during the encounter, as he struggled to imagine how he would escape the situation alive.

He explained that he was a young man focused on building his future when he suddenly found himself facing a potentially deadly situation.

“I was just a young man trying to make something of my life and I suddenly found myself face to face with death. At that point all I was thinking is that it will take the grace of God to save me from the situation,” he noted.

Medikal said he eventually escaped the frightening encounter after his mother repeatedly called his phone. The calls distracted the armed man and gave him a chance to leave.

Reflecting on the incident, the rapper warned young men to be cautious when visiting women at their homes, especially when they do not know who arranged or paid for the accommodation.
