The warning follows what the University described as a growing number of social media posts, WhatsApp groups, websites and other online platforms purporting to provide official information or assistance on KNUST admissions and accommodation.
In a statement signed by the University Relations Officer, Dr Daniel Norris Bekoe, KNUST said only officially designated University offices and platforms are authorised to provide information and guidance on admissions and accommodation matters.
The University urged applicants and parents to exercise caution when dealing with individuals or groups claiming they can secure admission, guarantee hall accommodation or arrange room bookings on their behalf.
βDo not send money, admission credentials, passwords or personal documents to anyone simply because they claim to represent KNUST,β the University cautioned.
KNUST advised prospective students to rely on information published through the University's official website and contact the Admissions Office directly for enquiries concerning admissions, fees, accommodation and hall bookings.
The University also reminded applicants that their admissions portal credentials are personal and confidential.
βYour KNUST Admissions Portal credentials are personal and confidential. Please do not share your username, password or other login details with anyone,β the statement said.
KNUST said prospective students should verify any information concerning admissions and accommodation through its official channels before making payments or providing personal information.
