According to eyewitnesses, the vehicle was travelling from the Koforidua Technical University stretch when it rammed into the motorcycle as the riders negotiated the curve leading onto the China Mall stretch.
The impact reportedly threw both occupants off the motorcycle and detached its engine from the body.
The Nissan Patrol subsequently veered off the road before crashing into the retaining walls behind the China Mall.
