In a comment under a video shared by the finance minister, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, on social media on September 17, 2026, Wiyaala wrote: “Man of integrity… respect to you.”
The comment followed remarks by the finance minister in which he explained the principles guiding his decisions in managing money entrusted to him by Ghanaians.
“What guides me most is the fact that I have a clean conscience. When I’m sleeping, I know I haven’t offended anyone. I haven’t taken anyone’s money. The money Ghanaians entrusted me with, I’m taking care of it from my heart,” he said.
He explained that his decision to decline certain requests should not necessarily be interpreted as a personal dislike for those making the requests.
“When you ask me for something and I don’t give it to you, it doesn’t mean I didn’t give it to you because I don’t like you. I believe that maybe what you’re looking for and what you’re using the thing for is not important for Ghana. That principle keeps me awake,” he added.
