Speaking in an interview with Nana Romeo on September 30, 2026, Qwaachi Classic said the reports that he had beaten his wife were part of a prank and publicity stunt intended to promote new music.
According to the musician, he and his family did not anticipate that the prank would generate such widespread attention or escalate to the point where it would attract the intervention of the police.
He explained that because they did not expect the matter to reach such a level, they had not made any arrangements to respond to the allegations when they began circulating widely.
“The allegation that I beat my wife was a prank intended to promote my new music. We did not anticipate that the issue would escalate to that level, so we did not make any provisions to address it when it eventually did so I left the rumours like that,” he said.
Qwaachi Classic further denied that he would physically assault a woman, insisting that he would rather spend the time doing something else than engage in violence.
He said he would never beat a woman, stressing that the time he would use in beating a woman, he would rather use that time to watch adult content.
The musician also pointed to the way he disciplines his children as an indication of his approach to handling conflict within his family.
According to him, he does not beat his children either. He specifically mentioned his son, Fotocopy, explaining that whenever the young musician does something wrong and he becomes angry, he prefers to seize his gadgets as a form of punishment.
Qwaachi Classic said the items he takes away from his son include his PlayStation, laptop and phone, rather than resorting to physical punishment.
Qwaachi further disclosed that the allegations against him generated significant reactions on social media, particularly on TikTok, with some users taking the matter seriously enough to organise for the police to visit his residence.
The allegations against Qwaachi Classic first gained public attention in April 2026, when reports emerged that he had allegedly assaulted his wife, Theresa, leaving her with bruises around her mouth.
Theresa subsequently shared a video on social media showing the injury, with reports at the time claiming that the bruises were the result of an alleged assault by her husband.
According to reports, police officers visited the couple's residence in Kasoa on April 20, 2026, following the allegations. Qwaachi Classic was reportedly not at home at the time and was said to be staying at a hotel.
It was further alleged that Qwaachi Classic had seized Theresa's phone and locked her inside a room before leaving the residence, prompting police officers to visit the house after the matter was reported.
The allegations also drew further attention after one of the couple's children spoke about the incident in an interview on TikTok.
The child reportedly claimed that the alleged assault on April 19, 2026, was not an isolated incident, alleging that their mother had been physically abused by Qwaachi Classic on previous occasions.
