The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has declared a man identified as Frank Danquah wanted over his alleged involvement in suspected narcotic-related offences.
According to a wanted notice issued by the Commission on Tuesday, September 22, Frank was born on September 11, 1978.
NACOC has appealed to members of the public with information on his whereabouts to assist the Commission in locating him.
The Commission has provided the toll-free number 0800 307 307 for anyone with information on the wanted person to make contact.
NACOC stressed that the declaration relates to alleged narcotic-related offences and that Frank is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The Commission urged anyone with relevant information to report to the appropriate authorities.
NACOCβs official wanted-persons page indicates that individuals on its wanted list may be sought in connection with offences under the Narcotics Control Commission Act, 2020 (Act 1019), including the importation or exportation, unlawful possession or control, and prohibited business involving narcotic drugs or plants.
The latest notice comes amid recent investigations into suspected drug trafficking.
Earlier in September, authorities began investigating the alleged trafficking of about 3.9 tonnes of suspected cocaine from Ghana to France after the consignment was intercepted at Dunkirk.
Six people were subsequently remanded in connection with that case. Prosecutors alleged that four containers had undergone scanning at the Tema Port before being released for export despite abnormalities allegedly detected in the scan images.
