The Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority (NYA), Osman Ayariga, has cautioned young people against recording and sharing nude photographs and videos, warning that such content could have serious consequences for their future.

He urged them to be mindful of the potential impact of intimate content shared with partners, particularly as such material could resurface when they take up leadership or other public positions.

Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the National Youth Parliament, Ayariga urged the youth to desist from creating and circulating explicit content, stressing that the consequences could extend beyond their personal lives.

“People should put a stop to sharing their naked videos and photos with people. You have no idea what the future holds and the office that you will find yourself in the future. Sharing such information will haunt you in the future. Let us put a stop to it; it won’t help us in any way,” he said.

Mr Ayariga stressed the need for young people to exercise greater caution in their use of digital platforms, particularly when sharing private information and personal content with others.

He noted that material shared privately could eventually become public, potentially affecting the reputation and prospects of individuals who may later seek leadership positions.

The NYA CEO therefore urged the youth to adopt responsible digital habits and consider the long-term consequences of their actions before creating or sharing intimate content.
