2026 Budget: Minority confused over ‘impressive’ figures – Asutifi North MP

Member of Parliament for Asutifi North, Ebenezer Kwaku Addo, has criticised the Minority Caucus for what he describes as a confused and politically motivated posture on the 2026 Budget.

He argued that the economic indicators presented by the government demonstrate clear progress, contrary to the minority’s claims that the budget is “empty.”

Speaking on the Channel One Newsroom on Friday November 21, the MP said the opposition’s criticism had little grounding in the realities captured in the fiscal document.

“It is an interesting one, and I think the minority is confused looking at the figures and indicators this NDC government has chalked over the few months. I think it is something we have to commend the government.

I don’t agree with the minority,” he said.

According to him, the current Minority has failed to demonstrate sincerity in its assessment of the budget.

“They describing the budget as empty, I think it is quite unfortunate because the figures speak for themselves,” he added.

The debate on the 2026 budget is expected to intensify in the coming days as both sides of the House continue to scrutinise the government’s economic projections and policy priorities.
