Antoine Semenyo delivered a stunning Manchester City debut by producing a Man of the Match performance in the FA Cup clash against Exeter, capping his first appearance with a goal, an assist and a dominant all-round display. The Ghanaian forward, who was named in Pep Guardiola’s starting line-up just hours after completing his move from Bournemouth, wasted no time showing why City invested heavily in him.
City went into the break with a commanding 4–0 lead, but Semenyo took centre stage after half-time. In the 49th minute, he provided a perfectly weighted pass for Rico Lewis to score City’s fifth goal, demonstrating his vision and ability to link play.
Just five minutes later, he was on the scoresheet himself, calmly finishing after being set up by Ryan Cherki to register his first goal in City colours. Beyond the goal and assist, Semenyo was a constant threat, stretching Exeter’s defence with his pace, intelligent movements and direct running.
His pressing and energy also impressed, helping City maintain their intensity even with a comfortable lead. Antoine Semenyo scores and assists on Manchester City debut
