Big Push Road Projects: All five roads to be upgraded to asphalt standard – Western North Regional Minister

The Western North Regional Minister, Wilbert Petty Brentum, has revealed that all five major roads being constructed under the government's Big Push initiative in the Western North Region are expected to be upgraded to asphalt standard.

Speaking during an inspection tour of the Akontombra–Dadieso Road with officials from the Ghana Highways Authority and the Department of Roads and Highways, the Minister said the Pekyi Junction–Kudjour Road has already been designated as an asphalt road. He added that the Enchi–Elubo Road is also being developed to asphalt standard.

According to the Minister, he is working closely with the Minister for Roads and Highways to ensure that all five roads under the Big Push programme are upgraded to asphalt standard to provide a uniform and durable road network across the region. He also commended the various contractors for the quality of work being carried out on the projects.

The District Chief Executive for Akontombra, Joseph Appiah, praised Kingspork Construction for the quality of work on the Akontombra–Dadieso Road project.

He noted that upon completion, the road will significantly improve transportation and boost economic activities within the district.

The District Chief Executive for Suaman, Vasco Obour also expressed optimism about the progress of the project, stating that the contractor's performance has been impressive.

He appealed to the contractor to maintain the pace of work, adding that the completion of the road will make travel between the Suaman and Akontombra districts easier while promoting trade and economic growth in the area.
