DCE Commiserates with Families and Survivors of Nadowli–Wa Highway Accident
A tragic road accident on the Nadowli–Wa highway claimed three lives on Tuesday, September 16, 2025. The accident involved a passenger vehicle carrying 16 occupants who were travelling from Jirapa to Techiman. The victims were rushed to the Nadowli District Hospital, where three were confirmed dead on arrival. Among the deceased was a police officer who was reportedly on transfer to his new station.

Several others sustained injuries of varying degrees and are currently receiving medical attention at the hospital. The cause of the accident has not yet been established, but police have commenced investigations into the matter.

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Nadowli, who visited both the accident scene and the survivors at the hospital, extended her condolences to the bereaved families and expressed sympathy to the injured. “This is a difficult time for the families who have lost their loved ones. On behalf of the Assembly, I wish to extend our deepest condolences and assure the injured that we will continue to support them as they recover,” she stated.

She further assured hospital authorities of the Assembly’s commitment to collaborating with them to ensure that the victims receive the necessary medical care. She also commended the fire service, police, and community members for their swift response to the incident.

The DCE, however, bemoaned the deplorable nature of the Nadowli–Wa highway and cautioned drivers to be extra careful when using the stretch. She revealed that the road network within the district would soon see a facelift as the government rolls out the Big Push agenda, which will cover several roads in the area.

Authorities have promised to monitor the situation closely while investigations into the cause of the accident continue.

That's very true. And the reason drivers must be meticulous when driving on that stretch of the road. Thanks
