2025 BECE: CSSPS placement results to be released today
The Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) results for 2025 has been released on Wednesday, September 17, giving successful candidates the opportunity to check their placements online.

The Ministry of Education announced that all Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates would be placed in Senior High or Technical schools, either through automatic placement or self-placement.

According to the Ministry, there are no fixed cut-off points for placement. Instead, merit is determined by factors such as raw BECE scores, the competitiveness of the chosen school, demand for specific programmes, and candidates' preferences.

"Every student is entitled to placement. Depending on their performance, school choices, and available slots, they will either be placed automatically or be allowed to select a school themselves," the statement clarified.

Candidates who are not automatically placed will have the opportunity to use the self-placement module to choose schools with available vacancies. This ensures that all qualified students have access to secondary education.

To check their placements, students must log on to the official CSSPS portal at
www.cssps.gov.gh/hub

They will be required to enter their 10-digit BECE index number plus the last two digits of the examination year, along with their date of birth.

After signing in, candidates can view and print their placement slips, which will serve as admission confirmation to their respective schools.

The Ministry further emphasized that checking placement on the portal is free of charge. Students are cautioned against paying any individual or group claiming to assist with placement.

“Placement is strictly based on merit and availability. We encourage parents and students to use only the official portal for their checks,” the release stated.

For challenges with placement, students may use the chat box on the CSSPS portal or visit designated resolution centres beginning Tuesday, September 16, across all regions.

The Ministry assured us that adequate measures have been put in place to address concerns promptly and ensure a smooth placement exercise.

The CSSPS has been a central feature of Ghana's education reforms, guaranteeing equitable access to senior high and technical education for thousands of BECE graduates annually.
