Private legal practitioner Lawyer Isang Sylvester has extended a helping hand to 22 individuals across his constituency by donating bags of cement to support the repair and improvement of their homes.
The presentation took place on Saturday, October 18, 2025, as part of his ongoing philanthropic efforts to uplift the less privileged in his community.
The initiative followed a public announcement inviting individuals in need of building materials to come forward. Beneficiaries included widows, the elderly, and persons living with disabilities from several communities, including Zimuoperi, Nandonne, Danko, Nandonnkpee, Goziiri, Ketuo, Airport area, Pataal, Konyugang, Pufien, Baseble, Bu-Pigvuo, Duotange, and Segru.
Each beneficiary received three bags of cement, delivered directly to their homes at no cost. In addition, Lawyer Sylvester pledged to cover the cost of workmanship, while beneficiaries were only required to provide sand or gravel to complete their projects.
Hon. Aabe-inir Pontianus, who coordinated the presentation on behalf of the lawyer and his foundation, said the gesture formed part of Lawyer Sylvester’s broader commitment to improving the living conditions of vulnerable groups.
“This is Lawyer Sylvester’s little way of ensuring that those in need can have a comfortable place to lay their heads after a hard day’s work,” Hon. Pontianus explained.
The donation was met with heartfelt appreciation from the beneficiaries. A 62-year-old woman from one of the recipient communities, who preferred to remain anonymous, expressed her joy:
“I don’t have anyone to help fix the floor of my room. When I heard there was someone willing to support, I reached out, and today I’m a beneficiary. I don’t know him, but I’ll keep praying for him.”
To ensure the success of the initiative, a local mason from each community will be hired to carry out the repair works, with payment covered by Lawyer Sylvester’s foundation.
