Haruna Iddrisu discharged after road crash on Bolgatanga Tumu road

Haruna Iddrisu has been discharged from the 37 Military Hospital following a road traffic accident.

In a statement issued by his office, it was confirmed that the Minister for Education has left the hospital and is recovering.

“Hon. Haruna Iddrisu has been discharged from the 37 Military Hospital following a road traffic accident,” the statement said. “He is in good spirits and has been advised to rest as part of his recovery.”

The Minister also expressed appreciation to those who supported him during the period. “The Minister expresses sincere gratitude to the medical team and all who offered prayers and support,” the statement added.

The accident occurred on Thursday, February 12, 2026, along the Bolgatanga Tumu Road. Iddrisu and the Deputy Minister for Communications and Digital Technology, Mohammed Adams Sukparu, were travelling with their teams to official engagements in the Upper West Region when the crash happened.

They were scheduled to attend the 40th anniversary celebrations of Tumu College of Education and Jahan College of Education at the time of the incident.
