Esther Latebia, a mother of two from Kasoa, is demanding GH¢150,000 from one Mr Osei, a UK-based Ghanaian, for allegedly failing to honour his promise of marriage to her.
According to Esther, she rented a house with her former partner some years ago in a property owned by Mr Osei through a caretaker.
She said her relationship with the man later collapsed. After Mr Osei returned to Ghana, he reportedly contacted her through the caretaker, expressing interest in marrying her as his second wife.
“And we went to rent the house, so the owner later came. When he came, he said he liked the way we had been keeping the house. He then went back abroad but later I got separated from my partner. So, the caretaker told me that the man had given him his number for me to call him.
“He asked me why we got separated and I explained. He said when he came to Ghana, he liked me but could not say it then. So, when he heard that I was divorced, he like me, “he said.
Speaking on Nhyira FM's Obra Show on April 16, 2026, Esther said Mr Osei promised to build a house for her, buy her a taxi to work with, waive her rent and support her two children if she agreed to marry him.

“He said he would marry me as his second wife. He said if I agreed, he would take care of my two children until they completed tertiary education or found jobs.
“He would build a house for me and would not let me pay rent until the building was completed. He also said he would buy a taxi for me to work with.”
The distressed lady added, “We began to have romance on the phone through video call until he returned to Ghana.”
However, Esther claimed that after dating him for six years, Mr Osei has changed his mind and no longer wants to marry her, while also failing to fulfil the promises he made.
“Now he is saying he cannot continue with the marriage plans again.”
According to Esther, after allegedly wasting six years of her time, she is now demanding GH¢150,000 from him as compensation, leading her to seek redress on radio.
