President John Dramani Mahama has reaffirmed his commitment to equitable national development following a courtesy call by the Eastern Regional House of Chiefs, led by Nene Sakite II.
He highlighted steady economic gains, including improved macroeconomic stability, declining inflation, and renewed investor confidence, while emphasizing ongoing efforts to operationalize the University of Engineering and Agricultural Sciences (UEAS) at Bunso.
The President noted that the uncapping of the District Assembly Common Fund will empower local authorities to drive development, alongside investments in healthcare through initiatives such as Free Primary Health Care and the Ghana Medical Trust Fund (MahamaCares).
He also assured the Chiefs of government’s commitment to completing the Eastern Regional Hospital and advancing new health infrastructure projects nationwide.
President Mahama stressed the need to address youth unemployment through private sector growth, industrialization, and agriculture, while expressing appreciation for the continued support of traditional authorities.
