Amaba: Ghanaian Artist Causes Stir As He Details Strange Encounter With Late Daddy Lumba
Ghanaian artist Amaba has detailed his purported encounter with the late highlife legend Daddy Lumba's ghost.

In a recent interview with Nana Romeo on Okay FM, the singer stated that he had quit music; however, his encounter with the highlife singer triggered him to continue with his career. “I had a dream in which Daddy Lumba appeared to me and asked me why I quit music. He told me that he didn't like what I was into. There, I knew it was my soundtrack he was referring to,” he said.

Amada claimed he didn't have many opportunities to meet the late Daddy Lumba when he was alive, but could recount one or two moments he had spent with him.

He further details a warning which seems more like advice the award-winning musician gave to him in a dream. “In one of my encounters with Lumba, he guided me on what to do and words to use as far as my music career is concerned. He warned me never to title or use the word ‘wanted’ in any song I produce,” Amaba said.

Daddy Lumba's death
On July 26, 2025, Ghana's music industry and the nation were thrown into a state of mourning after reports had it that Daddy Lumba had passed on at the age of 60. The death of the highlife legend came as a surprise to many, as Ghanaians least expected such tragic news.

Daddy Lumba was known for a lot of hit songs, including ‘Makra Mo’, ‘Mensei Da’, ‘Ye Me Wo Sere Kwa’, and many others.

Following his death, the Fosuh family has been embroiled in all sorts of controversies, ranging from disputes surrounding the date of his death, court cases that sought to stop his funeral and litigation pitting the legend's two wives against each other over who should be recognised as the legal spouse.

Despite the scandal, the musician was buried on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at his residence in East Legon. The legacy of Daddy Lumba has since been upheld by the music industry, and his fans have expressed their unconditional love for his craft.

Social media comments after the Ghanaian singer shared his encounter with the late Daddy Lumba's ghost.

*Adam Seidu wrote: “All are lies. Daddy Lumba never appeared to you.”

* Manuel Kendrick wrote: “Oh, Ghana, unless a famous personality doesn't die, everyone will have a story to say.”

*Jannifer wrote: “Please relax, Ghanaians will not replace you with Daddy Lumba.”

*Henry Hayford wrote: “Massa, you are lying.”
