Landlord allegedly kills tenant over GH¢30 utility dispute at Medie
Residents of Medie Ketewa, a suburb of Medie in the Ga West Municipality of the Greater Accra Region, have been thrown into a state of shock after a middle-aged man known as Opoku Agyemang was reportedly stabbed to death by his landlord over electricity bill.

The 37-year-old with three children and a wife was reportedly owing his landlord an amount of GH¢30 for the electricity bill.

The report indicates that the two, Opoku and Koranteng, are very good friends, even though Opoku is renting Koranteng’s house.

Eyewitness report say the two have been working colleagues for a long time, and it is difficult to determine what exactly sparked the arguments over the GH¢30 electricity payment.

Enoch Idan Danquah, who happened to witness the incident, told Onua News that the landlord was unhappy with how Opoku paid his electricity bills, so he invited him to his room for deliberations over the bill payment.

According to the story, the landlord allegedly drew a machete during the discussion and fatally stabbed Opoku.

The 50-year-old landlord, Kofi Koranteng with five children, bolted after allegedly committing the act, and the case has been reported to the police for investigations.

Currently, Kotoku police have conveyed the body to the mortuary for a postmortem.
