Christian Atsu to be laid to rest on 17th March
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Christian Atsu, a beloved member of the Christian community and a talented footballer. Atsu passed away on March 1, 2023, at the young age of 30, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and passion for the game.
Born in Ada Foah, Ghana, Atsu began his football career with the Porto B team in 2011, before moving on to play for several other clubs, including Chelsea, Vitesse, and Newcastle United. He was known for his lightning-fast pace, quick footwork, and his ability to score spectacular goals.
But Atsu was more than just a footballer – he was a devout Christian who was deeply committed to his faith. He used his platform as a professional athlete to spread the message of love, hope, and redemption to his fans and followers, and he was a true inspiration to many.
On March 17, 2023, we will gather to lay Atsu to rest, and to celebrate his life and legacy. The service will be held at the forecourt of the state house , Ghana, and will be open to all who wish to pay their respects.
The service will begin with a prayer, led by a local pastor who knew Atsu well. This will be followed by a eulogy, delivered by one of Atsu’s closest friends and fellow footballers. The eulogy will celebrate Atsu’s life and accomplishments, and will remind us all of the impact he had on the world around him.
After the eulogy, we will hear from Atsu’s family members, who will share their own memories and stories about their beloved son, brother, and uncle. We will also hear from members of the football community, who will talk about Atsu’s skill and talent on the field, as well as his dedication to his faith and his community.
Throughout the service, we will also have the opportunity to sing hymns, pray, and reflect on Atsu’s life and legacy. We will be reminded of the power of faith, love, and hope, and of the importance of living our lives with purpose and meaning.
At the end of the service, we will gather outside of the church to say our final goodbyes to Atsu, as his casket is carried to the cemetery. We will stand together as a community, united in our grief and in our love for a man who touched so many lives.
Christian Atsu will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on. We will remember him as a devoted Christian, a talented footballer, and a true inspiration to all who knew him. May he rest in peace, knowing that he made a difference in the world, and that he will never be forgotten.
