Kumawood actor and member of Kristo Asafo, Akwasi Boadi, popularly known as Akrobeto, has explained why he did not attend the burial ceremony of the late Kwadwo Safo Kantanka.

In a video shared on social media on September 14, 2026, Akrobeto, who was seen speaking at a ceremony organised by Akofena, one of the late Safo Kantanka's sons, said he did not attend the funeral because he obeyed the late engineer's wishes.

According to him, he had been taking advice from the late engineer while he was alive, adding that Apostle Kantanka's wish was for his son, Akofena, to be his successor.

Akrobeto further explained that during one of his interactions with the late Safo Kantanka, the engineer told him that Nana Akofena should organise his burial and funeral ceremony when he was no longer alive.

He added that since Nana Akofena was not the one who organised the funeral ceremony, he decided not to attend.

"During the burial, a lot of people called to ask why I didn't attend because I have been vocal about him. Papa told me that when he was no longer alive, Akofena should bury him and also organise the funeral ceremony.

"So, if you didn't see me during the burial, it was because I respected him and decided to go by his wishes. That was why I didn't attend the burial," he said.
