The match will be played at the Grand Stadium of Tangier, with the fixture announced by the Moroccan Football Federation as part of the Atlas Lions’ programme for the October international window.
The meeting will give Ghana another opportunity to test itself against Morocco, who have established themselves among Africa’s leading sides in recent years.
The two countries have been familiar opponents for more than six decades. Their first meeting came in the qualifiers for the 1962 FIFA World Cup, when the sides drew 0-0 in Accra before Morocco claimed a 1-0 victory in Casablanca.
They have since met in World Cup qualifying, Africa Cup of Nations competition and a number of international friendlies.
Morocco have had the upper hand in the two most recent senior meetings. The Atlas Lions won 1-0 in a friendly in Rabat in June 2021 before repeating the scoreline against Ghana in the group stage of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
Sofiane Boufal scored the decisive goal in that AFCON encounter, with Morocco opening their campaign with victory.
The October fixture will come as Ghana and Morocco prepare for their respective programmes following the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Morocco reached the last four of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, becoming the first African side to reach the semi-finals, and lost to France in the quater-finals at the last edition.
Ghana, on the hand, exited the group stages in 2022 and advanced to the Round of 32 in 2026 before being knocked out by Colombia.
Ghana are also scheduled to begin their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign during the September-October international window. CAF has set the first two qualifying matchdays between September 21 and October 6, 2026.
The Black Stars will play Ivory Coast in Bouake on September 24, before hosting The Gambia at the Accra Sports Stadium on September 29, 2026.
The Tangier friendly will therefore provide another high-profile test for coach Carlos Queiroz as he begins his second spell after leading Ghana to the World Cup.
A kick-off time and squad details for the October 4 encounter have not yet been announced.
