Ghana and Cuba review bilateral relations including assessing our longstanding health cooperation

Mr Ablakwa described the engagement as an excellent opportunity to renew Ghana's solidarity with Cuba.

As President Mahama reiterated during his UN address, Mr Ablakwa said, Ghana calls for the unconditional lifting of sanctions against Cuba.

"Our meeting on the sidelines of the 81st UNGA also reviewed our excellent bilateral relations including assessing our longstanding health cooperation which allows Cuban medical volunteers to work in Ghana and the training of Ghanaian medical doctors in Cuba," he wrote on X.

He fiurther stated that the Government of Ghana is delighted to know that the relief items we donated arrived in great condition; that they made the necessary impact; and that it is well appreciated by the Cuban people.

"I commended Cuba for their incredible resilience and conveyed Ghana’s congratulations on the centenary anniversary of Comrade Fidel Castro," he wrote.
