The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has assured Ghanaians that the country remains safe and secure.

According to the Minister, the Government will continue to implement measures to maintain and improve security across the country.

Muntaka touched on a range of issues, including the general security situation, border security, the Gun Amnesty Programme, TRAFFITECH-GH, the electronic visa platform and NCABIS, recruitment into the security services, the unauthorised use of sirens and other road traffic offences, as well as the fight against drug trafficking.

On the fight against narcotics, he stressed that government takes drug-related issues seriously and will continue to collaborate with foreign security agencies to address the menace.

He noted that drug trafficking is complex and requires effective international cooperation.

The Minister also called on Ghanaians to support the security services in the discharge of their duties by providing credible information on suspicious activities, cooperate with officers and comply with the law.

He gave the assurance when he appeared on Accra-based Joy FM to update the public on the achievements of the Ministry of the Interior.
