Founder and leader of the International God’s Way Church, Bishop Daniel Obinim, has stated that his marriage to his wife, Florence Obinim, has not officially collapsed, despite their reported separation.

Speaking during a sermon in his church, the preacher explained that Florence had told the court she is still living in their matrimonial home, while indicating that he was the one who had left.

“My marriage has not collapsed. The woman is still in my house. When this matter was presented to court and we were reading the documents, the woman said she’s still living in her matrimonial home.

“Florence told the court that she’s still in the marriage, but I’m the one who walked out of the marriage. She also stated in the document that she asked her family to come and tell me that I’ve packed my stuff and left the house,” he said.

Obinim argued that if the matter were to be determined by a judge, he could be asked to return to the marriage because, according to him, the marriage had not formally ended.

However, he insisted that he would not return to the matrimonial home unless certain conditions are met.

“Definitely, if we should appear before the judge, he would just say I should return to my marriage. I will also be asked if I will agree to go back, but I will tell the judge I will never return to the house,” he stated.

The preacher explained that one of his conditions for considering a return would be for Florence to distance herself from people he considers his enemies.

He further stated that, should she agree to the condition, he would ask the court to require her to sign a bond committing herself to staying away from those individuals.

Obinim maintained that without an agreement on the condition, he would prefer the marriage to be dissolved as soon as possible.

“Even if I consider going back, it will be on the condition that she stays away from the people she has gotten close to. If she won’t do that, then the marriage should be cancelled as soon as possible,” he shared.

He added, “If she agrees to stay away from them, I will tell the judge to let her sign a bond that she will never go close to my enemies, and if she does, I will pack out again and never return.”
