Ashanti GJA moves to revive student Journalists’ wing
The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Ghana Journalists
Association (GJA), Kofi Adu Domfe, has outlined plans to reawaken interest among student journalists and integrate them into the association.

Speaking to OTEC News, Mr. Domfe explained that the GJA already has a dedicated wing for student journalists, designed to nurture them before they transition into full-time practice. However, he lamented that the group has remained inactive in the Ashanti Region for years, a situation he described as worrying.

To change this, the newly elected regional executives will embark on visits to accredited journalism training institutions across the region to revive the student wing.

Mr. Domfe said the initiative will not only inspire students to join the association immediately after graduation but also help expand GJA’s membership base and strengthen its influence. He added that the new leadership is committed to working with all stakeholders to ensure the effective running of the association.
