Kasoa: Boyfriend unalives girlfriend

A 26-year-old seamstress, Mabel Asantewaa, has been stabbed to death by her 27-year-old boyfriend, identified only as Sammy, at Chinese Down near the Kasoa toll booth in the Ga South Municipality.

The incident occurred around 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 after Mable refused to engage with him because she was menstruating.

According to eyewitness accounts, Sammy stabbed Mabel multiple times in the neck before attempting to save her, but she succumbed to her injuries.

He then reportedly ingested a poisonous substance in an attempt to take his own life.

A neighbour said Sammy later called for help, prompting residents to forcibly break into the room. They found Mabel lying in a pool of blood on the floor, naked, while Sammy was struggling for his life on the bed.

The landlord was immediately informed and subsequently notified the police at Tuba.

Sammy is currently receiving treatment at the Amanfrom Polyclinic under police guard, while officers investigate the incident.
