NSS to close registration system on Friday
The National Service Scheme (NSS) will close its registration system on Friday, with half of the deployed personnel for the year still unaccounted for, according to the Deputy Director-General in charge of Operations, Fuseini Donkor.

Donkor expressed frustration over the widespread delays, emphasising that the system will not remain open indefinitely. “By Friday, we are closing the system,” he stated on the AM Show on Joy FM, warning that those who fail to comply will forfeit their opportunity to register.

Donkor revealed that despite the system’s capacity to handle large volumes of data, many personnel have simply refused to report.

“Today is Wednesday, and 50% of them have not reported. Our system can take even a million, but they must report and register,” he stressed.

He accused some personnel of intentionally holding back in an attempt to manipulate the process later. According to him, certain individuals are delaying registration because they believe they can later influence changes to their postings through unofficial means.

“The frustration they are giving to the system is becoming too much. Most of the regional offices are just sitting there doing nothing because somebody thinks, ‘I will bring money, I will change it for you.’ Please, by Friday, we are locking the system,” Donkor cautioned.

He further criticised what he described as a growing trend of deliberate attempts to bypass the official deployment procedure. He explained that these actions have rendered many regional NSS offices idle, as personnel fail to show up while banking on backdoor arrangements.

The NSS is urging all deployed personnel to report immediately and complete their registration before the Friday deadline.
