President John Dramani Mahama has said that the government will continue to strengthen intelligence and security in the country to drive national development.
He cited the importance of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity in modern security frameworks.
President Mahama said this when he commissioned the National Signals Bureau’s Volta Regional Command in Ho, emphasising that security is the foundation of development and intelligence is the backbone of security.
He stated that the expansion of the National Signals Bureau across the country is crucial for national surveillance and protecting digital and cyberspace.
The new Command in Ho will serve as the central hub for intelligence and security coordination in the Volta Region, equipped with advanced technology and integrated with regional and national surveillance systems.
Interior Minister Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak commended the government’s commitment to enhancing national security, announcing that four new regional commands will be operational by the end of the year.
