US woman who claimed she was kidnapped blocks investigators, deletes viral video – Police
Arianna Naomi Mackey, an American woman who alleged she was kidnapped and robbed by some men purported to be police officers have blocked investigators and deleted the viral video in which she was narrating her experience.

This was disclosed by the police in a statement issued on Tuesday, December 9, 2025.

The police also noted that Arianna has declined to respond to the team of investigators looking into her allegations.

Arianna had earlier posted a video alleging that some purported police officers kidnapped her and a group of friends and also robbed them of some amount of money.

A statement issued by the police on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 said preliminary investigations indicate that the video was recorded at a hotel in Accra where Ms. Mackey and two companions were staying.

The investigation also confirmed that they checked out of the hotel on December 5, 2025.

Police say checks at the Kotoka International Airport also disclosed that Arianna left Ghana on the same day.

According to the police, officers subsequently contacted the alleged victim to assist the investigation. However, she indicated to the police that she was out of the country and could not get the names of the alleged police officers nor the number plate of the vehicle they used.

Police further requested for the contact details of her friend in Ghana, who she said was with her during the time of the incident. But she noted that her friend is not interested to be involved in the investigation.

“She has since deleted the video on her page and further efforts by the Investigators to contact her through WhatsApp calls and messages have proved unsuccessful, as she has declined to respond and later blocked the team,” the statement said.

The police noted that efforts are ongoing to secure her cooperation through appropriate diplomatic channels.

The Ghana Police Service stressed that it treats such allegations very seriously and remains committed to uncovering the facts in this case.
