President John Dramani Mahama has said that Africa faces many challenges, including a global order that remains rigged against the continent, especially in relation to natural resource endowment.
He makes the point that it is time for African countries to add value to the exports and secure a fairer share of the natural resource endowments.
But most importantly, he said, this is the time for us to provide transparent, accountable leadership to the people and to unleash the creativity and energy of young people.
President Mahama wrote this on Facebook after joining Kenta to celebrate Jamhuri Day with President William Samoei Ruto.
He said the people of Ghana stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Kenya. We pay tribute to the memory of our forebears who fought valiantly for our freedom, and we do not take their sacrifices for granted.
“The friendship between our independence leaders remains an enduring flame that continues to bind our two nations together in a spirit of Pan-African unity. Africa faces many challenges, including a global order that remains rigged against us. It is time for us to add value to our exports and secure a fairer share of our natural resource endowments.
“But most importantly, this is the time for us to provide transparent, accountable leadership to our people and to unleash the creativity and energy of our young people. Kenya remains a respected member of the African Union and other international bodies, and Ghana wishes you continued success,” hr wrote.
