This is contained in a press release dated April 15.

"The Minister for the Interior, on the advice of the National Security Council and by Executive Instrument, has imposed Curfew on the following communities in the Gushegu District of the Northern Region from 6: 00 pm to 6: 00 am with immediate effect:

PABONI, YIDAANI, KUKPOK, BUSUN NO. 1, BUSUN NO. 2, NAGNANI, NAYAGILE, DONBIN, KOLIK, TINYONGU and KLOKPAN."

"Government urges Chiefs, Elders, Opinion Leaders, Youth, and people of the area to exercise restraint in the face of the challenges confronting them, as well as to use non-violent means to channel their energies into ensuring peace in the area," the statement noted.

Meanwhile, the Inspector-General of Police has deployed a special team of operational officers and armoured vehicles to Gushegu and Karaga to beef up security following recent clashes in the town.

According to a statement issued on Wednesday, April 15, the team will work with officers of the Northern Regional Police Command to intensify patrols and enhance security in the towns and surrounding communities.

The goal of the reinforcement is to boost police visibility throughout the impacted areas and increase the ability to respond quickly to security threats.

The increased deployment, according to security officials, is a part of a larger effort to stabilize the situation and reassure locals as security operations continue.

The Inspector-General of Police emphasized that the special team's presence is anticipated to support local police units' continued efforts, especially in preserving peace and protecting people and property.

Residents in Gushegu and Karaga have been asked to maintain calm and cooperate with security authorities as patrols are increased and intelligence-led operations are enhanced.
